Taquilla USA: 'Ángeles y demonios' más cerca del cielo que del infierno

Era de esperar que este pasado fin de semana 'Ángeles y demonios' fuese la líder indiscutible de la taquilla en suelo estadounidense, aunque sólo haya superado a 'Star Trek' en su segunda semana por 5 millones de dólares. Ron Howard se apunta así un tanto más a su currículum, lleno de éxitos taquilleros, aunque sorprende en demasía que, después de ofrecernos una de sus mejores película, 'El desafío: Frost contra Nixon' haya sido capaz de bajar tanto el nivel, volviendo a su habitual estilo, y darnos gato por liebre en la segunda aventura cinematográfica de Robert Langdon.

La crítica no habla demasiado bien de ella, y el público votante en la IMDb parece estar más contento. Eso sí, el film no alcanza a recaudar lo que su predecesora, 'El código Da Vinci' logró en su estreno. Esta vez al menos, no han salido alucinantes protestas fundamentalistas en contra de la película. Algo es algo.

Battle of Midway, 1942 (in color)

The Battle of Midway happened six months after Japan's Pearl Harbor attack, and resulted in heavy losses for Imperial Japanese Navy, which wanted to lure American aircraft carriers into a trap and occupy Midway Atoll, but failed miserably. Hollywood director John Ford took this footage, which became part of the color documentary (see the whole film here)
